the title of my very first blog. When Janice left for vacation, she also left instructions that I should write a blog. Hmmm....just where do I start?? Well, as it so happens, I just returned from 2 weeks in MT. My 93 year old Daddy had a stroke & was unable to walk. With the aid of a cane, he is now able to maneuver slowly & is doing much better thank you.
I flew 3000 miles to see if I could be of help. My stepmother is only 87, so she is less in need of assistance :) ( I believe that I will make this the 1st of a couple blogs so as not to bore you right off the bat with a very long one.)
I wonder what my vision of their home would have been before I became an organizer. Would I have picked up on the little details that seemed to "pop" out at me the other day??
I decided that my job was to make their living environment as easy to navigate as possible & as safe as well. Gone is the throw rug by the front door. The mat outside is sufficient. A new shower curtain, on a new rod, with new rings, now slides much smoother when a person is using grab bars to enter & exit the tub/shower. And yes, grab bars, like the kind we all use when staying in a hotel were installed in a few minutes by a good handyman for about $100. When purchasing the water-resistant fabric shower curtain, I chose a light color to brighten the room. The curtain is the kind that doesn't need a liner, thus is easier to use..... to be continued!
