Resolution - Organized: Cary Organizing Firm Launches 2011 'Order Overtures' Campaign

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
January 01,2011 (All day)

CARY, N.C. -- New year, new you. This old cliche is heard time and time again by those setting their goals to lose weight, quit smoking and get organized.

According to the National Soap and Detergent Association, 80 percent of household clutter is the result of disorganization, not lack of space. The group also reports that getting rid of clutter would eliminate 40 percent of the housework in the average home.

To help people achieve their goal of "finally" getting organized in 2011, Janice Russell, CPO-CD and the Minding Your Matters® team are launching Order Overtures, a campaign designed to provide tips and ideas throughout the year for those striving to bring order to their lives.

An overture is defined as an opening or initiating move toward negotiations or a new relationship. "When getting organized, people need to have a new relationship with their stuff and their time," Russell said. The new campaign will help people do so in small increments each week.

"Making a chance is not really about a 'new,' you," said Janice Russell, Overseer of Order for Minding Your Matters.® "It's about working toward the goal you set and realizing you set that goal for a reason. It's about realizing that step by step, you can and will make a change that will make a difference in your daily life's happiness."

The Minding Your Matters® team will be posting videos and pictures to help people visualize what organized can be. They will also be issuing tips on Facebook and Twitter (hashtag #Order2011) to help people meet the daily challenge of achieving organization. These tips will include ideas for your home, work, electronics and even your brain. You can find the entire list at http://bit.ly/OrderOvertures.

Harris Interactive reports that 23 percent of adults report paying bills late because they lose them.

And a study by a Boston marketing firm showed that the average American spends 55 minutes a day looking for things they know they own but cannot find.

"Getting organized means making a decision within yourself to do something differently so that you can make changes in your life," Russell said. "But that doesn't mean you have to do it all on your own. We hope our tips and ideas will help those with organizational challenges change themselves and their environment with greater ease."
